5 Essential Winter Lawn Care Tips
1. Last Mow Before Winter
Before storing your TerraMow, schedule a last mow with a cutting height of about 5-7cm (2-3 inches) to promote healthy growth next spring. However, please avoid mowing during winter.
2. Keep the Lawn Clean
Regularly clear leaves, branches, debris, and snow piles on your lawn with a brush to prevent mold, disease, and damage to the grass.
3. Minimize Stepping & Traffic
Minimize stepping and vehicle traffic on the lawn in winter to avoid compacting the soil and damaging dormant grass.
4. Necessary Watering and Aerating
Your lawn still needs watering even in the winter. However, be cautious not to overwater, as frozen water can harm the roots. Only water your lawn when the grass looks dehydrated.
Aerating is another special care you need to pay attention to during winter, especially when snow piles compact the grass and soil. Use a fork to spike some small holes in your lawn to loosen the soil and get some air.
5. Feed the Lawn with Liquid Fertilizers
It’s still necessary to fertilize your lawn during winter to keep a rich-nutrient soil and strong grass. Since solid fertilizers are not functioning well, liquid ones will do the magic.
Get ready to give your lawn and TerraMow the care they need for a blooming comeback next spring!
